How it works

The material is introduced into an aerated zone as a support for attached microorganisms. Biofilm remains on the carriers as water and mixed liquor move around them. Its use is matched to aeration conditions, wastewater characteristics and the layout of the existing or new bioreactor.

Applications

For local treatment plants, retrofitted septic tanks, aeration tanks, bioreactors and hotel sites. Selection considers biological process condition and space for the media.

Development status

A SOLVIA material development for project-specific use. Material selection, application method and operating conditions are matched to the medium; formulation and manufacturing details remain part of the developer's technology.
